Kim Foxx is the State’s Attorney for Cook County, Illinois. She has held this position since 2016, following several years of practicing law.
Foxx was born in April 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. She is known today for her role as an American politician and has been serving as the State’s Attorney for Cook County since 2016.
Foxx became the first African American woman to lead the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, which is also the second-largest prosecutor’s office in the country, according to her Adler University biography.
After obtaining a law degree from Southern Illinois University, she served as Chief of Staff for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for 12 years.
Foxx is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Adler University.
Kim Foxx is married to Kelley Foxx, and they have two children together.
